Colombian President Gustavo Petro told his US counterpart Donald Trump in a phone call on Wednesday that he is not a drug trafficker and presented his government's statistics in the fight against drugs. "I had to throw the numbers at him, few, the same ones I have repeated here about why I am accused (of being a drug trafficker) if for 20 years I have been risking my life, fighting against powerful traffickers (mafias) and allied politicians," Petro said during a "in defense of sovereignty" rally at Bolívar Square in Bogotá. The head of state also explained to Trump in that call about the work done with the Venezuelan government to face drug trafficking: "I spoke to him that with Maduro we had coordinated joint operations, he there and I here, in (the border region of) Catatumbo".
