Colombia Resolves Diplomatic Crisis with the US

The Colombian chancellor, Luis Gilberto Murillo, announced after reading an official statement that the diplomatic crisis with the United States has been overcome. Colombia will continue receiving deported citizens, ensuring dignified conditions for them while they are in the country.

"We have overcome the impasse with the Government of the United States," stated Murillo. President Gustavo Petro had previously decided not to allow the entry of two planes carrying deported Americans, which caused the conflicting situation. However, the problem has now been resolved, and decent treatment is guaranteed for those returning to Colombia as deportees.

The Colombian Government has assured that it will continue to receive deportees, recognizing them as citizens with full rights. This decision puts an end to the crisis triggered by the initial refusal to allow the entry of planes carrying deported individuals from the United States.
