The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, issued a strong warning about survivors following recent bombings carried out by US forces against vessels in the Pacific Ocean. Through his social media account X, the head of state clarified that, according to information verified by the Colombian naval force, at least three people died in the last attack, but the rest of the crew survived after jumping into the water near the coasts of Guatemala and Mexico. Petro attached map coordinates of the exact point of the incident and described these actions, framed in the fight against drug trafficking, as "executions" that violate international law and regional sovereignty. Since the start of the US operation "South Lance" last September, the Colombian president has denounced more than 30 attacks on boats and the death of more than 100 people whose identities remain anonymous. The Colombian government has formally demanded from Washington the list of deceased persons to determine how many were Colombian citizens and if they indeed had ties to criminal networks. "This seems to be the exact area where the boatmen fell. It is known that three died, the rest remained alive because they threw themselves into the sea," Petro stated, urging the families of the missing to report these attacks that, in his view, are carried out without due process or prior identification of the targets.
