In the Darién region, where the jungle dictates rules and danger is never forewarned, the National Border Service (Senafront) has once again secured control over the territory. Operation "Sentinel" enabled the deactivation of anti‑personnel mines and the arrest of Colombian citizens involved in illegal migrant trafficking, as well as those linked to criminal structures such as the Aragua Train and the Gulf Clan. According to the army's report, there was an attempted incursion by criminal groups into the area. The operation found five improvised explosive devices, two of which were located near the Binational Base La Ollaytres in Alto Limón; a boat carrying 33 migrants was seized, and among those detained were "coyotes" and suspected members of the Aragua Train, confirming that transnational criminal networks operate unimpeded. The mission was carried out with more than 300 special forces and maritime units, strengthening border security.
