President Petro Critiques Milei's Token Promotion

The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, mocked his Argentine counterpart, Javier Milei, after the latter promoted a token and generated a wave of criticism in Argentina. Petro wrote through his account: "Invest, president, in Colombian coffee, its international price is rising like never before. And it is also sold in pounds." He then emphasized: "It is not done by scamming magnates, but by the peasants of my land; it is very good, tastes like peace, has the aroma of beauty and decency."

The relationship between the two leaders is not the best, with the G20 in Brazil being the stage of maximum tension between them months ago. Petro even mentioned a fight with Milei during that event and accused the Argentine government of hiding the images.

Petro's provocation comes after the controversy sparked by the libertarian economist, who faced harsh criticism in Argentina following his promotion of a token. The reference to Colombian coffee as an investment alternative and the allusion to the operating methods of the peasant producers in his country set the ironic tone of the Colombian president's response to his Argentine counterpart.
