Lina Marulanda, born on May 15, 1980, was recognized for her participation in the Colombian telenovela 'Yo soy Betty, la fea.' However, her career spanned different artistic fields. She started as a model at the age of 12 and then ventured into entertainment journalism at the CM& news program, before moving to Noticias Caracol.
Despite being more known for her participation in the successful television series, Lina Marulanda also stood out as an entrepreneur and presenter. Her tragic death on April 22, 2010, at the age of 29, shocked her followers, as it was a suicide. Shortly before her passing, she sent a message expressing her need to be alone.
The model and actress left clues about her emotional state in a letter to her parents, asking for forgiveness for any harm she may have caused them. In it, Lina mentioned her desires to open an institution for mental health and to study law, goals that she could not fulfill. Her last moments of life included having breakfast with her parents and calling a friend before falling from the sixth floor of her parents' house, in a tragic outcome.
Lina Marulanda was going through a phase of depression caused by a marital breakup, her second divorce, and the failure of her jewelry business. These events plunged her into deep sadness that, unfortunately, led to her premature death.
