HISTORY and LOSO Begin Filming 'Parceros' Documentary on Medellín's Youth
HISTORY and the production company LOSO have begun filming the "Parceros" documentary, which seeks to portray the opportunities and resilience of children and young people in Latin America. The project aims to expose the potential and transformative power of young Latin Americans, showing how opportunities and community support drive the future of the region.
The documentary, which will bring hopeful human stories to the screen, will be hosted by renowned actor Michel Brown. "The childhood and youth of Medellín have a force that inspires, and accompanying this process from production drives us to work with even more dedication," expressed Michel Brown about his participation.
The heart of the documentary is the "Parceros" project of the Medellín Mayor's Office, which works in the field with children and young people in vulnerable contexts. This alliance was born to make our young people visible and to show the world a Medellín that rises up, fights, and transforms." Paulina Patiño Giraldo, Director of Parceros Medellín, emphasized that the documentary will allow the stories of youth to "go further and demonstrate that with opportunities and support, everything changes".
For his part, César Sabroso, Senior VP of Affiliates, Marketing and Communications for A+E Networks Latin America, commented that the project represents a unique opportunity to show a Medellín "full of hope, thanks to the joint work with the Medellín Mayor's Office and Parceros".
With the start of filming, the "Parceros" documentary is preparing to bring these stories of overcoming and community to millions of homes throughout Latin America. These stories need to be told with sensitivity, respect, and commitment. Brown not only takes on the role of host but also participates as an executive producer through his company, LOSO Productions, in co-production with Lulo Films.
Filming for "Parceros" will take place between December 2025 and January 2026, with the aim of premiering exclusively on the HISTORY channel. "Being part of this project as a host and executive producer, alongside LOSO Productions, is a responsibility and a privilege," added Brown. Federico Gutiérrez, Mayor of Medellín, highlighted the impact of the collaboration: "When the public sector works hand in hand with social organizations and media with global reach, the impact is multiplied."
