The Colombian Prosecutor's Office will file charges against Ricardo Roa, former campaign manager for President Gustavo Petro, for exceeding electoral spending limits and influence trafficking. Roa, who currently heads the state oil company Ecopetrol, is accused of exceeding the legally established limits for electoral events during his tenure as campaign manager for the Historic Pact, the coalition that brought Petro to power. On Monday, the delegated prosecutor against Organized Crime, Raúl González Flechas, announced that two requests for charges will be filed with the judiciary. According to the prosecutor, one of the accusations is due to the fact that during Roa's tenure as campaign manager for the Historic Pact, the party that brought Petro to power, the legally established limits for this type of electoral event were exceeded.
