
An individual was attempting to board a flight to Amsterdam (Netherlands), carrying cocaine capsules hidden in a wig. Thanks to the skills of the Colombian police agents, through passenger supervision and evaluation activities, an individual from the city of Pereira was detained and 19 cocaine capsules were confiscated, hidden in a wig the subject was wearing.
These pills contain a composition that, when evaluated using the Approved Preliminary Identification Test (PIPH), tested positive for cocaine. According to the detained individual's flight schedule, the 40-year-old intended to head to Amsterdam (Netherlands), where it is suspected he would transport the alkaloid. The detainee has a criminal record.
With this outcome, authorities reported that they were able to impact the finances of crime and halt the distribution of more than 400 doses of cocaine, valued at over 10 thousand euros, in global markets. The arrested individual has two prior criminal records related to drug trafficking.
The detained person was handed over to the Prosecutor's Office to answer for charges of trafficking, manufacturing, and possession of illegal drugs. Brigadier General Gelver Yecid Peña Araque, who is the commander of the Metropolitan Police of Cartagena, indicated that throughout the year more than 450 individuals related to drug trafficking have been arrested and more than 115 kilos of hallucinogenic substances, including marijuana, coca base, and cocaine, have been seized.
The Colombian Police announced that they managed to stop the distribution of more than 400 doses of cocaine, which in the international market exceeds a value of 10 thousand euros (equivalent to more than 10,400 dollars). During operations carried out by the authorities in Colombia, in the boarding process of both national and international flights, Anti-Drug units caught a Colombian individual in the act.
