Juanes Gives a Grand Concert in Argentina

The brilliant Colombian composer and guitarist gave a great concert, covering all the stages of his musical career. His songs have become anthems that resonate across the continent. The show opened with the classic hit 'Mala gente', followed by fan favorites such as 'Volverte a ver', 'A Dios le pido', 'Es por ti', 'Fotografía', and others, which sent the audience into a frenzy. The crowd also celebrated the songs from his award-winning latest album, 'Vida cotidiana'. The unanimous reception for the album declared it 'the best album of Juanes' career', earning him multiple accolades, including the Latin Grammy 2023 for 'Best Pop-Rock Album' and a GRAMMY 2024 for 'Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album'. Numerous media outlets, including NPR, Billboard, Variety, and Rolling Stone, highlighted the album as one of 'The Best of Latin Music 2023', stating: 'Three decades in the industry have not diminished the creativity of one of the most beloved stars in the Spanish-speaking world, and his [11th] album proves it... 'One of the Best Latin Albums of the Year'... Vida Cotidiana is full of lessons from his heroes but is made up of original songs charged with new energy, some of Juanes' best compositions... and precise production.' As the first album Juanes created with his long-time touring band members fully immersed in the recording sessions, it was no surprise it transitioned naturally and captivatingly to the live stage. Later in the show, there were more hits and tributes, to The Beatles, to Juan Gabriel, and as a great admirer of Argentine rock, he delivered a powerful version of Soda Stereo's 'Persiana americana'. Another surprise of the night came when Juanes started 'La camisa negra' and was joined by Un Poco de Ruido and Pinky SD for their recent cumbia version. Juanes arrived in Argentina as it marks 25 years since the release of his debut album, with Billboard and Rolling Stone declaring him the most influential Latin music figure of the 21st century, and last night's show confirmed that in full. The tour will continue at Arena Maipú in Mendoza on October 30 and conclude at Quality Arena in Córdoba on October 31. Born and raised in Medellín, Colombia, Juanes is undoubtedly the world's leading ambassador for Latin Rock and a champion for social change. In total, the VIDA COTIDIANA WORLD TOUR consisted of 71 concerts (the vast majority sold-out) in 16 countries. The fall also saw Juanes make his third acclaimed appearance on NPR Tiny Desk (to kick off their month-long Latin music celebration) and his third invited appearance on PBS's Austin City Limits for the historic 50th season of 'the longest-running music show in television history'. In a high-energy night full of surprises, Juanes landed at Movistar Arena with a compact show, featuring all his classics, new hits, and several surprises. Hailed by TIME as 'one of the 100 most influential people in the world,' Juanes is the only artist to have two of Billboard's 'Top-5 Latin Pop Songs of All Time,' has 13 #1 singles in the U.S., dozens of innovative TV appearances in Spanish, a Rolling Stone selection for 'The Best Albums of the 21st Century So Far,' and has amassed an astounding 29 combined GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY awards (from a record 49 nominations as a solo artist). Rolling Stone and Billboard continued the praise, highlighting the sold-out New York show as both 'Epic' and 'Triumphant'. After an active role both behind and in front of the camera in many of his own award-winning music videos over the years, as well as periodic film and TV appearances (including a significant voice role in the Oscar-nominated animated film Ferdinand), Juanes made his dramatic acting debut in the recent acclaimed Colombian film Pimpinero (Blood & Oil), directed by Andi Baiz for Amazon. With the start of 2025, Juanes fans around the world eagerly await both the upcoming 25th anniversary of his debut album Fíjate Bien and the anticipated new music Juanes is completing, with the first singles planned for the summer. Driven by the sound of his recently revealed custom Fender Stratocaster guitar, the extensive VIDA COTIDIANA WORLD TOUR captivated fans worldwide, with his North American spring tour having sold-out shows across the country and The Los Angeles Times proclaiming the production 'A Magical Night... A Master Class in Guitar... Sold Out... And One of His Best Performances to Date'. Following a new series of concerts in Europe and Latin America, the fall of 2024 saw Juanes embark on a second special leg of limited dates in the U.S., allowing him to bring his dynamic live production to additional cities he had never or rarely visited before. Also not to be missed were the two latest singles: 'Una noche contigo' and 'Cuando estamos tú y yo', tracks from his upcoming album. Midway through the concert, Juanes invited Luciano Pereyra to the stage, with whom he shared one of the emotional moments of the night when they went down into the audience to perform 'Para tu amor', which Juanes dedicated to his children. Known for his distinctive sound that fuses a deep love for rock and pop with carefully crafted, multi-layered songwriting, as well as a profound respect for the traditional folk rhythms of Colombia and Latin America, Juanes has sold millions of records worldwide. After a period of expanding his sound to include fusions with a wider range of contemporary sounds, Juanes' acclaimed and deeply personal 2023 album, VIDA COTIDIANA, ('Everyday Life') marked a definitive return to his electric guitar rock roots, combining his long-lauded songwriting skill with an introspective look at his life, love, family, social concerns, and more during the pandemic. Simultaneously, Juanes further deepened his interest in acting. They then raised the emotion with a heartfelt version of 'Sólo le pido a Dios', sung by the crowd.
